National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (COORDINATOR)
The National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (NKUA) is the largest state institution of higher education in Greece and among the largest universities in Europe.
About 39,789 undergraduates, 14,158 postgraduate students (at master level) and 8,753 Ph.D candidates, as well as 5,727 registered international students, are pursuing their studies at the NKUA, supported by 1,643 professors, 402 other teaching and technical staff, as well as by 1.057 (administrative) staff members.
The main sources of funding at NKUA are European, international and national funds, like the Partnership Agreement (PA) for the Development Framework, 2014-2020 (European Structural and Investment FundESIF), Horizon 2020, partnerships with public and private sector bodies, the provision of services to legal entities and individuals, grants, donations and others. In the last 3-year period, the average annual revenues for various projects supervised by faculty members of NKUA exceeded EUR 60 million.

Apostolia GALANI
Professor, Department of Pedagogy and Primary Education (DPPE), School of Education, National and Kapodistrian University of Athens.
I am a professor and an expert in Pedagogy and Geography Education. I am also the author of the official school textbooks for Geography in lower secondary education from 2007 to the present. My research interests focus on climate change, its impacts, and its communication to different student groups. I am the Director of the lab “Didactics and Epistemology of Science and Educational Technology.”

Evangelia MAVRIKAKI
Professor, Department of Pedagogy and Primary Education, School of Education, National and Kapodistrian University of Athens.
I hold a PhD in biology and I am a Professor of Biology and Health Education, a member of the Laboratory of Science Teaching & Epistemology and Educational Technology of the Department of Pedagogy and Primary Education of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, Greece, as also the director of the Postgraduate Program “Didactics and Public Understanding of Science and Digital Technologies”.

Directorate of Secondary Education of East Thessalonikis
The Directorate of Secondary Education of Eastern Thessaloniki is a public entity that oversees 140 secondary education schools. The scope of employee updates, as well as the seminars and events organized by this Directorate, are broad. Staff members have training in matters of educational and administrative policy, educational systems, new technologies, and approaches to environmental issues and green schools. Her extensive career spans over three decades, during which she has contributed significantly as a teacher, university lecturer, and administrative leader. She has actively participated in educational councils and committees at the municipal and regional levels, coordinated national and European programs, and organized numerous pedagogical and cultural initiatives. Fluent in Italian and proficient in English, she has also authored several academic publications and books focused on language teaching, intercultural education, and history. Dr. Vazoura’s commitment to innovation, inclusivity, and lifelong learning underscores her enduring impact on the Greek educational landscape.
