WP1: Project Management

The project coordinator, in agreement with the other partners, outlines all necessary activities to ensure the project’s success. Various monitoring measures, such as periodic online meetings, GANTT charts, and internal audits facilitate timely and cost-effective outcomes across all Work Packages (WPs).

Inclusivity and accessibility are prioritized through language translations and user-centered designs, making project materials freely available online to engage diverse participants, especially those underrepresented in STEM fields.

WP2: Competence Analysis

This work package is designed to establish the theoretical foundations for creating immersive learning experiences in STEM education.

Partners will conduct a survey targeting various groups, including students and teachers in secondary schools, as well as professionals in the AR/VR and online education sectors.

The results of this survey will inform the creation of the “Learning Experience Assessment Report” and several research papers. The report will map the current state of STEM education within participating institutions, providing insights into essential digital skills, knowledge, and competencies needed by participants.

These outcomes will be crucial for developing effective educational resources and training programs, ultimately contributing to the overall success of the project.

WP3: AR/VR Educational Material Design & Development

This WP focuses on developing educational resources using AR/VR technology. These resources will be easy-to use, free and flexible. Each material covers STEM subjects like biology, physics, geography, chemistry, mathematics, with specific topics/units to be determined in WP2.

By creating resources that will transform STEM subjects into engaging experiences, this WP will contribute to the digital transformation of Europe, promote STEM in interesting ways and encourage self-actualization of marginalised students to choose STEM as a career path in the future.

WP4: Training Events & Handbook

The main results of this work package are a training event, pilot tests with students, and an educational handbook.

A training event will be conducted in Thessaloniki, Greece, to help teachers understand and utilise new AR/VR educational materials effectively in their teaching.

Several pilot testing will be conduct in all partners countries to produce detailed report on students retention of STEM subjects, motivation and interest rates after the educational materials are implemented in STEM courses.

The educational handbook  will contain practical information on:

  • Digital AR/VR tools that can be used for teaching STEM
  • Global best practices for AR/VR in STEM courses
  • Units exploring the life of female scientists
  • Tutorials for utilising AR/VR materials developed in WP3.

WP5: Dissemination and Exploitation

This WP aims to enhance the project’s visibility and impact, reaching secondary schools, teachers interested in AR/VR, students aiming to improve in STEM subjects, and educational policymakers.

One of the key outcomes is the Communication and Dissemination Plan, which outlines target audiences, outreach strategies, communication channels, and performance indicators for engaging audiences on social media and the project’s website.

The project’s website serves as a centralised hub, completing all deliverables from each work package as well as the news, announcements and research reports.

Additionally, the work package will include Multiplier Events across partner countries to promote knowledge sharing and networking.
